Very few books on-line at the book store. We made the conscious decision a while back to just put some of the pricier or more esoteric books on-line. So out of the 30,000 + books here we can say that less than 1% are on line.
Eugene and I have both been disappointed when we enter book stores where almost every book coming in is looked up and most stock is on-line. I know it's a survival method but just isn't fun for a dealer any more. Very few surprises. And for the short time we had many books on ABE Books.com it was a bookeeping nightmare to keep track of books selling across the counter then be sure to take them off our on line database! Oh well...
Just went out in this sunny but cold and breezy day to look at 2 boxes of old tomes in the back seat of a car. "Hated to throw them away. Belonged to another generation long gone." .Folks had passed us for years but the first time they had stopped in. (Something we hear very often!) Glad they did. Just a few early "pretty" books that will go in our bindings and "pretty" books section. An Alcott, an early small songster and such. Must remember to take a photo soon of that book section. Don't believe that old saying....for there is many an old book bought for its cover!
