First morning of our Annual WINTER SALE. All books, paper, postcards, maps 20-60% off! Now through Feb. 5th. Longer than our Autumn one in case a snowstorm descends and keeps customers away.
A nice steady flow of browsers and buyers most of the morning & afternoon. I even got a chance to find some deals in the stacks. Seller BDZ restocked and all his books now are $3 and $5. Some very interesting titles. And WWCO'S two booths of nautical and ship books is now 50% off. (Just sold a great Titanic book of his and one entitled Petticoat Whalers?...) Two dealers have been adventurous and gone to 60% off. Most books 40% off with the mezzanine at 50% off and a few scattered 20% & 30 % offs. We will be restocking during the sale. Too many books still hiding in boxes and stuck under the table that need to see the light of day.
Eugene is working part-time so if you are in on a Monday or Tuesday before 2pm you will see him at the desk. Nice to have his energy, ideas and himself back at the Book Center after being away for more than a year.
If you are reading this and got a post card from us advertising the sale, we want to encourage you to come onto our email list. With over 1200 customers on the snail mail list and post card postage rising, rising, rising we need to economize. Just send us your email through this website (see the Contact Us tab above) and we will put you on our email list for the 2 Annual Sales, the Pioneer Valley Book Fair in the Fall and 1 or 2 other special book events during the year. Thank you in advance for helping us to lower our expenses.
Unfortunately I have not gotten to walk Fred very often this month. ARRGGH! I miss our walks but we did two shows one weekend after another (Papermania & Boston Design & Antique show (Wilmington, Mass.) and not around much in the daylight hours.(Does his owner think I am buried in a snowbank somewhere?)I have strong intentions of making up for my trangression(s) in the next week!
All for now, Barbara
