I have instigated a habit to not have our house (more ) overloaded with books. I picked up 4 fruit cookbooks this week to bring home and made myself go through my personal stock and select four books to "get rid of'" which for me means put into the store stock. It was hard, Finally put in one on French Cheeses, Onion Cooking, Mussels Cookbook and Gourmet Jams. It does help the floor piles from getting higher.
It happened again today. A book was sold that I'd had been looking for. An edition of Syzmborska's Poems. Too often that happens. Oh well. Must check the consignor's stock more often. We truly thank all you intrepid book buyers who have come out in the snowy and frigid weather to take advantage of this winter book sale. Now it's time to shovel a path to one of our rear garage storage areas and restock with books that have lain in their boxes for too long! It's also time to sand the walk a bit and put away those cookbooks I mentioned above. Then homeward to a simple Valentine's day dinner with Peter. Ahhh...the simple life.
