No great crowds but a nice holiday season with a mix of regulars and traveling folks drawn in by our highway sign (Books & More Books). Carefully selected small piles of books, postcards and the occasional pamphlet. A book on skyscrapers for the young man who builds them with a high tech Erector set-like set up. Old postcards of home towns for the aunts. Two audio CD's of popular modern fiction for her "husband in the other room so please ring them up quickly"! Valley Books www.valleybooks.com comes in almost weekly to restock his supply of Audio CD'S so check them out.
Just bought a nice lot of mainly modern books on health, how-to and related topics which we will be getting out soon. Stayed a bit late on Wednesday and took some photos of books in the store for this web site. Later last night at home it took a bit of time for this digital camera novice to get them out of the camera and onto a "stick" that I can now download onto the store's computer and get onto this web site! It's actually fun learning by trial and tribulation but always takes more time than I have allotted. .....

Photos now all cropped and ready to go onto the website after the New Year. Pleasant New Year's Eve day at the store with many extended family and friends groups passing by. Opened up the $1 garage (unheated) on the side and sold more than 50 books out of there in the last 2 days. When it's "warmish" (ie 30 degrees or above?) and not precipitating we will open it. We have more than 7 tables of $1 books plus 2 bookcases. And always adding more. Quite a lot of vintage paperbacks that came in a large lot Eugene rustled up a while back. Come and check them out in the good weather. In between browsers, I paid some end of the year bills and paid ahead for some future oil deliveries. Ugh!
Michael, who has the three mezzanine rooms, did a huge restocking today of many boxes. Spent several hours in there. They will now also be selling maps and prints. Some of their other specialties are Fiction (with some early dust jackets), Mysteries, Sci-Fi and Fantasy,Childrens, Americana, Books on Books and more. Check them out!
Eugene, Ted, Susan, Peter and I (Barbara) wish for all of you a very healthy and (more?) prosperous New Year. We are excited about the year ahead. Finally with this website we can show off our great store to the electronic savvy book buyers out there who might love to get lost in an old fashioned brick (for real!) and mortar book store!
Til next year....
