Delicious dinner Friday night after set-up at Woodman's in Essex who claim to have "invented the Fried clam". You could actually taste the flavor of the full clam through the light fried batter. Worth it to be there even before we entered, just to smell the sea from the parking lot. Stayed with friend and fellow bookseller Isabel Sloane of Windrush Books of Gloucester. Great conversation, sharing of book stories and a vigorous evening walk past grand mansions to the seashore.
The bookstore has picked up two new sellers in the past month. Come and check them out. Joe Pacheco, Brooklyn, New York, sells modern literature including "Beat Lit" and works by Bukowski and others. Bookcase # 15 by the door. And Barbara Paulson has a case of many topics including history, agriculture and mystery. Bookcase near the front desk.
I am still walking the dog Fred. And still in love with him ( even the times he doesn't come when called). Keeping me healthy to get out those 30-40 minutes 4-5 times a week. Especially after a few hours at the computer!
I promise to keep up with this blog better than I have in the past month. Picked up a nice pink azalea I will soon be planting at the store. Come on by and admire it before its lovely blossoms go by.
